Receiving BOTOX® Cosmetic injections is a safe, FDA-approved procedure that is unlikely to cause unwanted side effects. With Dr. Kramer’s experience and professional BOTOX® injections, these side effects are unlikely to happen. Risks may increase if BOTOX® is not injected properly or by an injector who is inexperienced.
Side effects of BOTOX® may temporarily cause an uneven appearance, such as a droopy eyelid. Patients are also advised not to rub the injection area for the first 24 hours to prevent the BOTOX® from spreading. Doing so may increase the chance of more side effects, such as vision problems, muscle weakness, or trouble breathing, speaking, or swallowing. Allergic reactions are also possible. Patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, have muscle or nerve conditions, drooping eyelids or eyebrows, or take aminoglycosides (ex: streptomycin or gentamicin) or other medicines that affect nerve transmission should not have BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments.
